This week the ASAE Annual Meeting and Exposition is convening in Los Angeles. While I was unable to attend this year I am still hopefully to get access to recorded sessions and virtual conference. While I am not there I have spend some time looking through the sessions and putting some thought into which I would attend and why I would. So here is a go at what my conference line-up would be if i were in Los Angeles.
AMC Community Pre-Conference
I have been at an AMC for the past two and a half years and have grown extremely interested in the AMC model. The sessions within the this pre-conference I would be most interested in are AMC-Managed vs. Stand-alone Models: Evidence-Based Comparisons presented by Michael Lobue, MS, CAE, General Session: Social Media: Generating Leads and Beyond presented by Jeff Gibbard, and Customer Loyalty/Branding Your AMC presented by Jeane Bliss. These sessions incorporate a little bit of everything in what I am most interested in which is technology/social media as well as the overall AMC model. Attending these sessions would help expand my knowledge of the model as it is something I would like to continue to be involved in my career.
Learning Labs
Here are some of the Learning Labs I would find myself in:
Enhanced Social Media and Engagement Strategies
Social media and emerging technologies? Yes! This would be a must attend session for me. Technologies and how they can better associations is one of my favorite topics.
Risky Chapters? Maximize Outcomes & Minimize Liability
This session draws my interest as I have spent some time dealing with risky chapters and a risky chapter structure. I would love to hear some different examples and how to deal with those types of situations. While chapters is not the highest on my interest list, it does spark some interest.
The Difference a CAE Makes
I have a strong interest in obtaining my CAE. After attending some events to earn credits towards my CAE I saw the value in attending more professional education programs and if those lead to a highly valued accreditation then it seems like a win-win.
That concludes the first half of my sessions you would see me at if I were at the Annual Meeting. Later this week I will share a few more that would be on my must attend list. If you are in LA let me know how it's going, especially if you found your way into one of these sessions.
